“I can’t believe I waited so long to allow myself to feel this way”

That’s a statement I made in my blog entry I published a little over a year ago. I was describing the way I felt when I allowed myself to step in front of the camera instead of being behind the camera. Being a lifestyle Wedding/Portrait photographer I have spent many years behind the camera and never really took the time to put myself in an image, I always felt my place was to be the one capturing them. So after the relaunch of my business, I had the daunting task of redoing my website. After hiring a web designer we had reached a point where the need to include professional images of myself was inevitable…. (you can read all about that experience HERE)

Every time I think of how I felt seeing my images for the first time, I am just captivated to help other women feel that same exact way! We are always putting everyone else’s needs before our own and I understand that I really do! I am a wife, mother, and I hold down a full time job so I do understand but I also know it took me going through this experience to understand that I am not good for anyone if I am constantly going on empty myself. I will break it down for you like this…..I know I am right so don’t try to argue with me (hehe)

All of us need to feel beautiful, it’s simply not enough to be told we are beautiful we have to feel it. We also need to be loved and I am not talking about the love you receive from your spouse or your children. We all need self-love because Lord knows how we are our own worst critics! Ladies let me tell you a secret if you are waiting on the perfect time to do it, I promise it won’t come. There will never be enough time, if we wait on a day to fit it in. We will ravage every excuse possible of why it’s not the right day or time to do it! That is why I am telling you TODAY is the time. Today is the time to just break away from every excuse you can come up with and call me to schedule you’re ALL ABOUT YOU session…It’s a photography session designed around the beauty of you! Sure it will cost money, time and resources but after my team has broken down the barriers and walls you have built up for yourself , you are going to look at the end result and ask yourself the same question “WHY did I wait so long”?

Do you have daughters, nieces or grand-daughter? Imagine if you will…….what if you were so full of self-worth that when you heard one of those beautiful young women in your lives say ”I am just not pretty enough or look how ugly I am” You would be able to react with the same response that was used by every mother in this world. Even though those responses are 110% true, you would be able to respond in a way that was filled with MORE THAN those truths but truth with fire behind it….. because you KNOW what it felt like to feel pretty, you know how you felt self-love and self-worth because you HAVE it! You have self-love because you FELT IT and SEEN IT through your own eyes. Talk about a young lady who would understand it a lot better….. because someone who experienced it, EXPLAINED IT!

I am so passionate about this because like my first statement “I waited too long to allow myself to feel that way” I finally allowed myself to feel beautiful…. I felt enough…. I felt the way GOD intended me to feel TRULY BEAUTIFULLY LOVED…. Because HE did make me just this way and YOU need to feel that way too…..  We will never allow ourselves to take time for just us, so now you have to MAKE the time!
