Love is in the air......
Whether you said, "I Love You" for the first time Yesterday or 50 years ago, documenting your love in photos is always an awesome idea.
Whether you're a wild and crazy couple, always making each other laugh, or a more private and quiet couple who enjoys sharing intimate moments - or, maybe you're a little bit of both? Either way, it's awesome and we'll document it.
These sessions are a great opportunity to take a break from the stresses of everyday life. We'll focus on the connection between you two, rather than on positions and posing (don't worry though - you'll look awesome!). It's almost like a date; I make THE BEST 3rd wheel, by the way. By the time we're done, you'll have had an awesome day of connecting with each other and you'll be ready for a date without me.
Where?
Your Love Session can be held just about anywhere - book shops, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, parks, alleyways, in your kitchen, on a hike, a picnic in a field, on a boat - all I ask is that it has relevance to you guys as a couple. :)
What to wear!?!
Rule #1 - Be Comfortable. You are too awesome to be hampered by uncomfortable clothing. Plus, we'll be moving around, standing, walking, sitting - wear something that makes you happy.
Talk to each other: (Duh, right?) DON'T match. But DO coordinate. Wearing clothes that are the same level of dressiness is really as matchy as it needs to be. You guys already look like you belong together. You don't need special outfits for that.
Flatter yourselves: Feel free to play up your assets. If you have great legs, don't hesitate to show them off! If you have an area of insecurity, think about how you can minimize that with your outfit choice. Scarves /pashminas/jackets are awesome accessories that can totally help highlight the best version of you. If you have insecurities that you want to share with me - please do. BUT, you're not allowed to do it during your session. Let's get that out of the way beforehand, so it doesn't bring us down on session day. :)
Consider COLOR: Most people look their best in certain colors (mine are green and orange). Although I love hiding in black clothes as much as the next guy, it tends to be a tough color for photographs. And again - you don't need to match your partner. If you look awesome in yellow, but he doesn't - mix it up.
I think that the photos (above) is a great illustration of "How to Dress for Photos." - Their clothes are totally appropriate for the weather, so they'll be comfortable. They don't match, but they go great with each other and with their environment. And, ripped jeans & a romantic fire are TOTALLY THEM, so it's perfect. Which is really all that matters.
