I’m so excited to be sharing this wedding with you today! These past few weeks have been a little crazy but I am so happy I can now share this wedding blog of two of my favorite people with you! I met Diondra almost 2 years ago when her family hired me to shoot her older sister Dayna’s beautiful Wedding. I absolutely fell in love with this family from the start. The girls were so laid back and trusted me! That says a lot when your clients are that confident in you and your work that they trust that you will give them every capture of their special day! Now here we are 2 years later and I am so blessed to be shooting another Pickard Wedding! Diondra contacted me within hours of announcing her engagement and said I am getting married on New Year’s Eve can you photograph my wedding? I knew I had to say yes and make it happen!
It was such a beautiful wedding and beautiful experience. I loved reconnecting with Diondra during the engagement and wedding planning phase and when I finally was able to meet Kody, and seen the way these two interact I knew he was perfect for her! Diondra has this sassy spunk attitude and Kody adds his chill factor, they balance each other out so well and they both love so whole heartedly. These two have such a beautiful and joyful relationship! I can't tell you how many times I caught Kody looking at Diondra as if it was Christmas morning and he was a kid getting the Christmas of his dreams. It was so cute! I'm pretty sure I cried more at their wedding than my own, haha.
Diondra and I both got a little nervous the week of her wedding about the weather. Of course we knew it would be cold, C’mon it was a December wedding in Kentucky, we prayed for a little snow but Accuweather page was saying rain! And we both didn’t want that :) Wedding morning we were blessed to snow sprinkles and it did end up sprinkling a little mist of rain on us while we took pictures, but not enough to keep us completely inside thankfully! It was just cold enough to warrant the use of a her beautiful fox fur! These two made cold weather shots look so magical and WARM!!
I'm so grateful for these two and the beautiful life lessons they showed me as I observed them on their wedding day! I think the moment I loved the most was during the first look. When Kody turned around and there stood Diondra in this to die for bridal gown, his eyes lit up and it was almost like you watched them fall in love with each other all over again! He was smitten by all of her beauty and it was truly a remarkable experience for me as a wedding photographer to get to witness 2 people choose to spend forever together!
Thank you so much Diondra and Kody for asking me to capture your day! I had so much fun with you two! I hope you absolutely love the pictures and that they bring back special memories for years to come!
